Hi all!
I have a recurring issue with OBS on Windows 11 using a Dell Laptop [1], capturing GGPoker. I use Window Capture to grab the different poker tables, and I've been doing this successfully for 3+ years now on the same device. Only recently, sometimes from the start, sometimes after streaming for a while, the capture fails, and I only see a black screen with a "disturbed" mouse cursor (see image below). Changing the capture to a different window (and back) doesn't solve it.
I have read the related post "Laptop? Black screen when capturing? Read here first." [2], and I've tried to set both OBS and GGPoker to use the same GPU. My Video Encoder is set to NVIDIA NVENC H.264. I've included my log file [3].
Things I've tried:
- If you want to use display capture to capture your screen / desktop, select "Power Saving". Tried this, but the same issue still happens sometimes.
- Using "Optimize graphics for games with windows" (normally disabled, enabling didn't solve it)
- Using OBS Game Capture: Works "ish" but it doesn't see differences in poker tables (even if they have clear different window titles), so it's not practical for me.
- Using OBS Display Capture: I don't want to use this, and it often doesn't "see" GGPoker (but captures everything else correctly).
- Often, restarting GGPoker solves the issue, but recently only temporarily. I can't put my finger on what triggers it to happen. It might switch which GPU it uses?
Not sure if this is related at all, but I've also noticed when I try to make a screenshot using the Windows Snipping Tool, I can't capture GG either. It minimizes automatically when starting a snip. It captures everything else fine.
I know my laptop is quite old, but streaming has been working fine for 3+ years, so I'm not going to upgrade just because of this issue :)
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
