Media source playlist, how on flatpak?

Hello,

i've noticed the vlc media source is no longer available so i can't make a randomized video playlist for when i'm afk.
How can i do this for the flatpak version now on arch linux?

I am seeing the same issue. Moving from a Win11 stream-PC to Linux. I just installed Fedora Kinoite today and went to import my scenes and sources. No more VLC media source. It did work in Kubuntu on my test yesterday.

I guess the work around for now is making one big compilation video project and slamming new videos in from time to time and just play that one video file. I do hope we can get VLC media source soon.

I have reinstalled Kubuntu and yep - confirmed VLC media source is there and working fine. Looks like it might not be supported in Wayland currently.

to clarify (you probably know this already) - if I install from flatpak - VLC media source is missing but if I install through apt (31.1.3) VLC media source is working fine. YMMV.

If it's too hard for him to add the vlc source, i wonder why not just convert the current media player to atleast add the function of Playing files from a folder.

It does seem like a missing feature for FlatPak - I would guess that people using the VLC source are (mostly) using it simply because it does allow for a playlist (unlike Media Source).

Yes this is literally it's only use case for me. When I was using obs on windows I had an afk screen with a randomized selection of compilation videos
