Application audio not working after connecting new earphones

this might be a niche issue, but I have two earphones that are wireless, and while application audio works when OBS is launched with the audio device I first started with, when my battery runs out and I swap to a second output device, the application audio stops capturing, even though desktop audio still captures fine after swapping earphones

does anyone know the solution to this besides restarting OBS and separating the recording/stream
I've tried creating a new application audio source but it still doesn't capture the new output device

"Application Audio Capture (beta)" only captures audio from the process (from the running ".exe").
"Audio Output Capture" - captures from a physical device ("speakers", "headphones" etc).

You rather need to restart the ".exe" (the capture target), not OBS.

Or maybe you have a more complex configuration and I misunderstood the problem.
